What we believe.
Jesus Christ is the good news. The Gospel is revealed in His birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension. Christ’s crucifixion is the heart of the Gospel. His resurrection is the power of the Gospel, and His ascension is the glory of the Gospel. Christ’s death is a substitutionary sacrifice to God for our sins. It satisfies the demands of God’s holy justice and appeases His holy wrath. It also demonstrates His mysterious love and reveals His amazing grace. At the center of this doctrine is the cross of Jesus Christ and the infinite privilege that redeemed sinners have to glorify God because of what He has accomplished. Therefore, we want all that takes place here at ACA to proceed from and be related to the Gospel.
The proper response to the Gospel is faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ- a faith that is naturally accompanied by repentance from sin. Biblical repentance is characterized by a changed life, and saving faith is evidenced by service in Christ’s kingdom. We are not saved by our good works. In order to become a disciple, a person must be willing to deny himself and follow Christ. Man’s response to the gospel is rooted and grounded in the work of Jesus Christ. This gospel of grace is to be sincerely preached to all men and women in all nations.
Salvation, the free gift of God, is provided by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. Anyone who turns from sin in repentance and looks to Christ ‘s substitutionary death receives the free gift of eternal life and is declared righteous by God. To be made righteous in Christ means that a person is justified and fully accepted by God. Through Christ’s atonement for sin, an individual is reconciled to God as Father and becomes His child. The believer is forgiven the debt of his sin, liberated from the law of sin and death, and receives the freedom of God’s Spirit.
our vision.
We believe that Jesus has called us together as one body: from different places, different walks of life, different cultures and different faiths. We intend to pursue a total integration of each part of the local Body of Christ to glorify God through the making of disciples, the studying of His word and worship.
We believe that Jesus has called us to go out and make disciples. We start with the people in our daily lives: friends, family, coworkers and the guy who bags our groceries at Whole Foods. The good news is good news for all and we intend to tell the world that.
We believe that Jesus is the only hope and stay for the world. He is taking us past our little worlds into His big world to preach the gospel, love on kids without moms and dads, and make disciples. The name of Jesus will be preached to the ends of the earth, it’s fun to be a part of that journey.
